Llama Exhibitors Information

Llama Barn Set Up is August 10th at 7 p.m.

Entry deadline for Llama/Alpaca is June 1st!

All Llamas/Alpacas must be entered on the appropriate form, or entered on line (one llama at a time, submit and enter next one).  If entering on line, download a picture or email picture to entry@bcyf.org

Current year photo or tattoo number must be presented at time of registration. No late registrations, no late pictures.

All exhibitors must verify their entries  July 25th or July 26th before 4 p.m. or forfeit their right to show at the Fair.  Office hours 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday before Fair is Barn/Tent set-up, the more hands we have, the faster it goes.  Calls will go out as to exact times when it gets closer to date.

Stalls are generally assigned, you may request to be next to someone, but we cannot guarantee it.

Entry day:    All animals must go through Health Check at Gate 3 (Shawnee Rd.) between 7 am and 1 pm, then proceed to barn.  After unloading and checking in with your animal, check in with your Superintendent or Asst. Superintendent.  Your final step is to go to the Entry office before 2:00 pm.  Sunday, Mandatory meeting @ 5:00 p.m.

Fair week:     Exhibitors are required to clean your stall two times a day at least. It’s good to check in periodically to see that stalls are clean.  Exhibitors failing to keep their stall clean will fall under the 3 Strike Rule (see page 14 of fairbook).  All tack areas are to be kept clean and neat.

If we have HOT weather, check your Llamas/Alpacas water, it is very easy for them to overheat.  They need water at ALL times.

Each exhibitor is asked to sign up for barn duty – staying at the barn and talking to people about our animals and picking up the aisles and checking for water if it’s hot.

We also rotate moms and babies to the front “show off” pens.

Dress code for showing (except costume) will be white shirt and blue/black long pant.

Show Days:  We will have a meeting with the judges before you show for questions or concerns.  Please be in or around the barn so you can be involved in this.  If you are showing other animals at the same time, please let Supt’s know so they can get info to you.

End of fair:   Sunday morning we need help cleaning up and tearing down, once again the more we have, the quicker it goes.

Sunday morning when the truck comes to pick up our panels from the open pens, we will need help also to load them.  Superintendents will let you know what time.

The main thing to remember is have a FUN and enjoyable week of fair.  It takes a lot of time, patience, team work and effort to make things go smoothly.  If there are any further questions, please contact the Co-Superintendents, Rich & Mechaele Loraff or Asst. Supts. Troy & Melissa Marske.

Release of Llamas is Sunday only from 7 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Premium checks may be picked up on Saturday of fair from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Entry Office or on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  They can also be cashed at either time.
